Are you thinking about booking a newborn session with me, or maybe you already have?  This page will help you prepare properly for a session.

Scheduling

Newborn portraits are best created within the first 2 weeks of birth.  I prefer to do them within the first week of birth, because this is when the baby is most sleepy, and is easy placed into adorable poses that families love.

If you are currently pregnant, please contact me with your due date and will block out some days and times for your child's portraits.

Preparing Your Baby

A fed baby is a happy baby.  If you live close by, please make sure that your baby is fed before your session.

If your baby has extra dry skin, trying putting some lotion on before their session.

Before you leave for your session, please loosen the diaper, so there wen't be lines on your babies skin.  Also please don't don't tight socks on your baby, as these will show up in photos as well.

Preparing Your Family

For any family members that will be in the photos, I ask that you wear dark pants and black long sleeved shirts.

Timing

Plan on the session taking up to 3 hours. The younger the baby, the less time we may need.

One More Thing...

Please know that no matter what your baby does, I am always relaxed. Try to relax also, because if your baby senses tension then he/she will be tense too making him/her irritable.  We have plenty of time if you need to walk around with the baby and comfort him/her.   I want you to enjoy this bonding time with your new baby.
